Antique Necklace with Sapphires, Pearl in Yellow Gold
This antique necklace, from the Edwardian to early Art Deco period, features swirls of gold that surround a Natural Blue Sapphire with a wonderful vibrant blue purple (almost cornflower blue), topped with a Seed Pearl, ending in another natural lavender-blue sapphire set in a dangling gold box. The pendant is stamped 14K. An XRF Analyzer calculated the gold content as 13.5 Karat. X-ray fluorescence testing allows for testing of gold without damaging the item. The pendant comes with the original chain. The chain is either gold fill or rolled gold. An XRF Analyzer calculated the gold content of the chain as 4.7 Karat. The sapphires are estimated at 2.5 mm (0.05 carat) and 3 mm (0.07 carat). This antique necklace features lovely natural sapphires and is in excellent condition for an item over 100 years old.
