Art Deco Filigree Bracelet with Diamonds and Blue Sapphires in White Gold
An original, Art Deco Filigree Bracelet with Old European Cut Diamonds and Synthetic Blue Sapphires. There are 3 Old European Cut Diamonds, with clarity estimated at VS1 or better, and carat weight estimated at 0.34 total (1/3rd carat). We have a policy to never grade diamonds VVS, even if we think they are. We are estimating the sapphires at 0.20 carat each for a total sapphire carat weight of 1.2 carat. The deep blue sapphires are synthetic, meaning lab created. Synthetic sapphires contain the same chemical properties as it's natural counterpart.
The first synthetic sapphires were created in 1847 (white sapphires). Synthetic sapphires did not become commercially available until 1877 and were used frequently starting around 1903. By the 1920-1930's, Synthetic Blue Sapphires were common in Art Deco jewelry. We had this bracelet polished and re-rhodium plated to ensure it is ready to enjoy for the next hundred years. This is a Genuine Art Deco original bracelet, not a reproduction.
