Art Deco Ring: Diamond Spinel & 18K White Gold Filigree Ring
A true Art Deco Ring with incredible 18K cut-work, an Old European Cut Diamond, and synthetic red spinel. The filigree ring has milgrain cut-work on every side and top, resembling lattices with leaves. The Old European Diamond is .04 carat, clarity is I2 and color is estimated at I-J. The spinel has a vibrant raspberry red color and has one small chip out of one corner. The chip can be seen by the eye, but isn't overly noticeable. This ring can be resized and appears to have been resized in the past.
Synthetic Spinel was invented in 1908, by accident, while trying to create synthetic rubies. Synthetic Spinel and Synthetic Blue Sapphires were used commercially starting around 1930, and are common common in Art Deco rings. Both Red Spinel and Synthetic Red Spinel are often used to mimic the look of rubies. This is an 18K carat, 1930's original, with a Genuine Old European Cut Diamond, at a reasonable price.
